Seven up!
MANY people think seven is a lucky number – and hopefully that will be the case for seven Cumbernauld College students heading to Leicester this summer to compete at the top level of their chosen sport in the Special Olympics.

Starting on July 25, 2700 athletes will compete in 21 sports over seven days of events in various Leicester venues, a College spokesman told the News and Chronicle.
Nicola (24), Caroline (28), and Debbie (25), are all set to take part in swimming events, having already made a splash in the sport and training in Dennistoun, Glasgow.
And Nicola recently brought back two gold medals - a silver and a bronze – from the European championship.
The spokesman added: "Alan (30), was delighted to qualify to take part in the equestrian events with his horse Paybay. He will compete in dressage, Working Pony and Horse Care and Management.
"Marianne (24), plays with the West of Scotland netball squad and is looking forward to the team camaraderie that takes place when the group get together.
"Karen Lyttle (38), is a former netball player who switched to badminton when arthritis in her knee affected her ability to play the game. Now she will be taking part in the badminton competition in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
"The gymnastics arena is where Russell (25), feels most at home. Having won numerous medals at all levels for his floor and rings routines, Russell is looking forward to the opportunity to showcase his skills to a large audience.
"However, qualifying to take part in the Special Olympics is only one only part of the story. The West of Scotland team, one of 19 Special Olympics regions in the UK, has to raise 240,000 to send its athletes to Leicester.
"Intense fundraising has been going on by all of the competitors to ensure the team reaches its target. The students are all excited about their chance to win gold, and are looking forward to a summer with a difference."
