Samantha picks up medals in successful rowing season

A FORMER Kilsyth Academy pupil is coming to the end of a very successful rowing season.

Samantha Fowler has had many "medal" moments this season, including a gold in the coxless four at the esteemed "MET" Regatta in London, fifth place in the French Universities Regatta in her single scull, bronze medal in the French Championships as part of the Aviron Toulousian Senior Women 8, Scottish Champion in the coxless four and a bronze medal in last weekend's British Championships at Strathclyde park, also as a member of the coxless four.

Samantha, from Milton of Campsie, will travel to Amsterdam mid August to compete in the European Universities Regatta, representing Glasgow University.

The Glasgow University graduate is supported by East Dunbartonshire Council Elite Performer Support Programme and who is an Asda Athlete associated to, and supported by, Asda Bishopbriggs.
