Lanark-born athletes go for glory
ALTHOUGH Forth boxer Scott Forrest is the only member of Scotland’s Commonwealth Games squad currently living in Clydesdale, there are two Lanark-born folk in our team for this summer’s extravaganza in Glasgow.
Forrest’s fellow fighter Charlie Flynn – who is now living in Motherwell – will be going for glory in the lightweight class. His first fight is today.
And distance runner Susan Partridge – now based in Sowerby Bridge – will contest the women’s marathon competition tomorrow.
Both Charlie and Susan will be raring to impress the home crowds, as the Scots try and win as many medals as possible.
