New football project to kick off in Cumbernauld
A NEW community football initiative is set to take off in Cumbernauld.
Find Me A Football Team aims to get more people outdoors and playing football.
It is aimed at both males and females aged 18 and over and has three key objectives, which are improving health, providing socail opportunities and maximising council facilities.
The first games are scheduled for March 3 and 4 at Broadwood Stadium. These will be split into three age categories – 18-25 years, 26-39 years and 40+ years.
You can join in by by visiting the project’s website at www.findmeafootballteam.com.
There you can book yourself onto a venue, date, and time that is suitable for you. Dependant on spaces available, you can book yourself as a single player, with a friend, or even as an entire team.
The goal of Find Me A Team is to allow everyone to enjoy the games as much as possible, and to be able to gain maximum enjoyment and benefit from participation.
It is hoped that within nine months matches will be available across all age levels in all Lanarkshire areas.
