Lanark’s Remembrance service in retreat to Hall?
And it is not so much HOW the town will mark the solemn occasion but WHERE that is causing the major conflict.
In one camp there are the forces in favour of returning the Remembrance Service to the Memorial Hall, built for that very purpose in the 1920s but not used for it since 2008 when it closed for a four-year-long refurbishment.

Hide AdIn the other camp there are those who want to retain permanently the ‘temporary’ arrangement during the closure for the service to be held in the town’s St Nicholas and Greyfriars Churches on alternate years.
