Flooding at Biggar Burn raises fears over new homes
As the picture shows, during heavy rain the burn turned into a torrent of water, several feet deep, and the ford was impassable to most traffic.
The ford, in Burnbraes, is the main access route to the new development of 36 houses being built at Rowhead Quarry.

Hide AdDr Janet Moxley, who took the photographs, alerted the Gazette amid fears about the flooding.
“At the time of the planning application, Friends of Burnbraes Park and local residents highlighted issues with the safety and usability of this road, but despite this the plans were approved,” said Janet, who chairs the Friends group.”
