Council house consultation
A consultation was launched yesterday, to give everyone an opportunity to have their say on the proposals.
It is being suggested that the council moves away from the current system for allocating available homes to a Choice Based Letting approach.

The Council is proposing a system based on five priority groups.
Residents seeking council housing would be allocated to one of the five groups based on their needs, and would then be able to bid on available homes, via the council’s website.
The new approach would allow residents to see all available council homes across the area and in turn the bidding outcome for each home, the number of bids received and the priority group of the successful bidder. This would be particularly useful for residents in deciding when and what to bid for.
