Carluke garage a Zit, rather than a Carbuncle?
A GARAGE built at Kirkton Church, Carluke, last year is up for a national award – but Zit is not one to boast about!
It is on Scottish architecture magazine Urban Realm’s short list for the Zit Award, for the country’s worst building.
The church garage faces competition from Edinburgh Airport Extension and a new addition to the Scottish Parliament.

Nominating the church garage, Carluke businessman Martin Hannah said it looked “like a giant black shipping container”.
