The fashion competition with a trashy twist
Now in its second year in Scotland, Junk Kouture asks school students to produce runway-ready designs from trash for the chance to be crowned the winner of Junk Kouture Scotland 2016.
Already a major success in Ireland and Northern Ireland, Junk Kouture inspires young, wannabe fashion designers to come up with truly spectacular creations, while at the same time reinforcing the importance of recycling and re-using waste.

He will be joined by one of Scotland’s most prolific fashion bloggers, Forever Yours Betty and Jimmy Stephen Cran of Glasgow School of Art, who will be back to size up the students’ designs.
After establishing herself on the Scottish blogging scene over the last few years, Sheri Scott, the creator and star of Forever Yours Betty, will bring a host of fashion knowledge to the panel.
As a fashion week regular, Sheri has a real eye for what’s on trend which will be put to good use at the final.

The competition is open to all secondary school aged children across Scotland and Junk Kouture has already seen high levels of interest from schools.
The closing date is January 15 and the most innovative and fashion-forward designs will walk it out in front of the Junk Kouture judging panel on Friday, February 5, at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall.
The competition in 2014 was fierce and saw everything from McDonald’s wrappers, Irn-Bru cans and melted crayons take to the stage.
